Douglas S. Freeman High School is a public high school located in western Henrico County, Virginia.  It opened in September 1954 and has undergone several additions and renovations through the years.

Since it opened, it has been widely acclaimed for both its academic and athletic excellence.  It currently serves about 1600 students who make up one of the most diverse populations of any high school in the county.

In the 2008-09 school year a group of alumni and staff formed a committee to look into establishing a Douglas S. Freeman Athletic Hall of Fame to recognize the many outstanding athletes, coaches, and supporters that have been a part of the history of Rebel athletics.  The organization is a 501c(3) non-profit and any profits from the Hall's activities are used to provide scholarships to current Douglas Freeman seniors. Your donations are tax deductible.

The inaugural class was inducted in the spring of 2009 at the Jepson Alumni Center at the University of Richmond.  The 2010 ceremony was held at the Dominion Club and the 2011, 2012, and 2013 inductions were held at the Hilton Richmond Hotel and Spa in Short Pump.  The attendance at the dinner each year has grown. We had over 350 at the 2013 ceremony.  In 2011 a captain's choice golf tournament was added to the festivities.

Mark your calendar, the 2014 Induction Banquet and Golf tournament will be on Monday, May 12, 2014.
